Sunlight in a world of grey
“It is more fun to talk with someone who doesn't use long, difficult words but rather short, easy words like "What about lunch?” ― A. A. Milne, Winnie-the-Pooh
You’re my sunlight in a world of grey.
You’re my reminder that it’s always important to play.
You’ve rekindled a want to dance,
You create smiles with a single glance.
Love and light is hard to see,
In a world that won’t let us be.
But revisiting the age of four or five,
Is enough of a reminder of how to be alive.
Because with drawing, dancing, and singing too -
When it comes to play, there’s always something to do.
No grammar, no judgement, no rules.
Just innocence before we have to deal with schools.
I know we’ll all have to grow up someday.
But till then, I will simply say,
Thank you for being a reminder to play.
Thank you for being a ray of sunlight in a world of grey.
